Case study: Residential extension on shrinkable clay, Shropshire
JNM Engineering was appointed to design the foundations for a two-storey rear extension on a property with shrinkable clay subsoil and mature trees nearby. We interpreted the ground investigation report, assessed tree influence zones, and produced a piled foundation design with structural calculations for building regulations submission.
Outcome
